FAQs

  • ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects the brain’s executive functioning and self-management systems. It is not a behavioral disorder or mental illness. ADHD impacts approximately 11% of children and nearly 5% of adults. While there is no cure, symptoms can improve significantly with proper treatment.

  • We currently provide treatment for ages 13 and older.
Parent coaching is available for children of any age.
QbTesting is offered for individuals ages 6–60.
We plan to expand treatment to ages 6 and older in the near future.

  • No referral is necessary! Simply book an appointment for your initial consultation.

  • Yes! Your initial consultation includes:
    A comprehensive ADHD evaluation
Screening for other commonly associated disorders
    Screening for potential learning disabilities

  • No. In addition to ADHD, we also treat Depression and Anxiety, which often mimic or coexist with ADHD. We provide comprehensive screenings for other conditions and collaborate closely with The Marriage and Family Clinic to offer counseling and ancillary services, many of which are available in-house. We are also in the process of expanding our practice to include care for more complex psychiatric disorders.

  • Yes! We offer guidance on 504 Plans and IEPs when appropriate. Our support includes:
Education on 504 and IEP plans
Recommendations for working with teachers and counselors
    Developing an at-home support plan

Not all students with ADHD require these accommodations, as many teachers already implement class-wide strategies to improve focus and retention. Ultimately, final determinations on 504 and IEP plans are made by the school administration after reviewing input from teachers, parents, counselors, and clinical providers.

  • MindPrint cognitive testing uses objective cognitive data to help students understand how they learn best, providing personalized academic and executive function strategies based on individual strengths and needs. This can be used by parents, teachers, tutors, as well as students to apply themselves. The test is designed for individuals with a 2nd-grade reading level up to age 21.

  • MindPrint testing is not a comprehensive neuropsychological or psychoeducational evaluation and does not independently establish medical or psychological diagnoses.

    What it does do:
MindPrint screens for patterns consistent with learning disabilities and giftedness. MindPrint cognitive testing uses objective cognitive data to help students understand how they learn best, providing personalized academic and executive function strategies based on individual strengths and needs.

  • MindPrint results and strategies can be immediately applied at home and school. They can also be shared with:
    Teachers and school counselors
    Tutors and educational specialists
    504 and IEP teams

If results suggest further testing is needed, we may recommend:
Requesting additional evaluations through your child’s school district
Seeking private testing with a qualified psychologist

MindPrint also offers special recommendations for SAT/ACT when requested.

  • Accommodation requirements vary by college and university. Each institution sets its own documentation standards for disability and academic accommodations. Some colleges may accept MindPrint cognitive testing as part of their review process, particularly when used to support academic planning, executive function coaching, or learning strategy recommendations. Other institutions may require a comprehensive psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation conducted by a licensed psychologist to formally establish eligibility for disability accommodations.

We recommend that students and families contact the college’s disability or accessibility services office directly to confirm documentation requirements before submitting testing. MindPrint results may still be submitted, regardless of requirements, as it still may be accepted by the university. MindPrint information is always valuable for understanding learning strengths and challenges, even when a full neuropsychological evaluation is required.

  • Creyos cognitive testing is an objective, computer-based assessment that measures key cognitive skills such as attention, memory, processing speed, and executive functioning. It provides data-driven insight into cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty, which can be helpful in understanding how cognitive patterns may relate to ADHD symptoms and daily functioning.

Creyos testing is not a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation and does not independently diagnose medical, psychological, or learning disorders. Results are interpreted within the context of a broader clinical assessment and are used to support evaluation, treatment planning, and symptom monitoring when appropriate.

  • No. Creyos cognitive testing provides objective information about specific cognitive skills but is not a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation. It does not replace formal testing conducted by a licensed psychologist when such evaluations are required.

  • Full neuropsychological evaluations are comprehensive and appropriate in certain situations, such as when formal documentation is required for disability accommodations, complex learning disorders are suspected, or diagnostic questions extend beyond ADHD. However, these evaluations can be time-intensive, costly, and not necessary for every clinical situation.

For many patients, objective cognitive testing tools provide clinically useful information about attention, memory, processing speed, and executive functioning at a much lower cost and greater accessibility. These assessments allow us to gather objective data that support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and symptom monitoring when used alongside a comprehensive clinical evaluation.

When a full neuropsychological evaluation is clinically indicated, we will discuss this recommendation and help guide appropriate next steps.

  • We require a 48-hour notice for cancellations of new patient evaluations and new patient coaching sessions, and a 24-hour notice for existing patient cancellations. A $75 fee will be charged for cancellations made after the specified time.

  • At this time, we do not accept insurance for consultations or sessions. However, we:
Assist with prior authorizations for prescription coverage for existing clients
Provide documentation for potential out-of-network reimbursement
Accept HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) payments

This approach allows us to focus on personalized, high-quality care rather than administrative burdens imposed by insurance companies.
