Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. MindPrint is a cognitive assessment and screening tool—it is not a diagnostic evaluation. It measures how the brain processes information and identifies patterns of cognitive strengths and challenges that may suggest the need for additional evaluation or support.
Your results may indicate patterns commonly associated with learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental conditions. However, a formal diagnosis requires a comprehensive evaluation by a qualified professional. Your specialist will review your results with you, discuss any areas of concern, and provide personalized recommendations for next steps, accommodations, or referrals when appropriate.
-
MindPrint does not diagnose learning or neurodevelopment disorders. Making a diagnosis can be a complicated process. Using objective data in combination with skilled evaluation is critical for an accurate diagnosis. The indicated MindPrint skills are those most often associated with learning challenge. If your child’s results flag a significantly low score, we may recommend you pursue further clinical evaluation at a qualified testing center or through your school district.
-
To ensure the most accurate results, the assessment is designed to be completed independently, allowing your child's cognitive abilities to be measured without assistance. We ask that parents and caregivers do not help with test questions or provide hints during the assessment.
Children should have at least a 2nd-grade reading level and be able to remain engaged at the computer for approximately one hour. The assessment includes built-in breaks to support attention, movement, and sensory regulation, helping students stay comfortable and perform at their best.
-
MindPrint does not measure anxiety. However, anxiety could interfere with a student’s MindPrint performance, particularly on the Working Memory and Attention tasks. Given the complex intersection between cognitive skills and emotions, concerns about learning and/or social and emotional issues should be addressed with your physician.
-
Your personalized cognitive profile is typically available within 48 hours after completing your assessment. During your 45-minute results consultation, your specialist will walk you through your results, explain what they mean, identify your unique learning strengths and challenges, and provide personalized recommendations with practical, actionable strategies you can begin using right away.
-
es. MindPrint can help identify cognitive patterns commonly seen in gifted learners, including twice-exceptional (2e) students who are both gifted and have ADHD or another learning difference. While no single assessment can definitively diagnose giftedness, MindPrint provides valuable insights into a student's cognitive strengths that may warrant further evaluation.
If your child's results suggest a gifted profile, we will discuss what that means, recommend any appropriate follow-up evaluations, and provide guidance on working with your child's school to ensure their strengths and learning needs are appropriately supported.
